Detailed description 
Just a quick diff file on changes to /lib/map_reduce/active_record.rb to remove the 'require_gem' warning.

Appreciate if you could apply this as it will silence a lot of warning messages in my logs!

This diff now seems to work and also patches the depreciated
call to count.

Hmm, now that diff doesn't seem to be working properly.
Anyone got any ideas on how to fix the require_gem issue
properly?
