Debugger hangs immediately

Detailed description 
Just installed latest 1-click ruby install for windows, including FreeRIDE 0.9.6. 
Entered a one-line program:
puts "hello"
This runs and produces output in Output View.
Then selected Run > Debugger. 
IDE hangs with hourglass, and has to be killed.
Repeats this behavior 100%
Windows XP SP2.

Jonathan,

Does this one relate to the a fix that you committed recently
in the CVS repo.
