Detailed description 
1)  Created a new project
2)  Pointed it to a directory
3)  Added new source directory, selected root of InstantRails
4)  FreeRIDE crashes

I tried with freeride 0.9.6 and 0.9.5

I have the same problem. I am running ubuntu feisty amd64.

/usr/local/FreeRIDE/./plugins/rubyide_tools_source_parser/simple_
parser.rb:147: [BUG] cannot convert system ID to string: 338

Does this happen only when you point it to InstantRails root
directory or in all cases. Can you look into the freeride.log
(under the freeride/config directory somewhere in your User directory)
file if there is a stack trace of the crash towards the end of
the file
