Add pre-built Windows version using Ruby 1.9

Wishes aside, at least having someone walk me through the process of compiling a gem for Windows would be great. I do all my development on Linux, so working in Windows is slow and painful. I'll look into rake compiler when I get a chance. Thanks!

I've managed to build it for ruby 1.9.1 also with mingw, but it would be much nicer if it would work as some other gems like ruby-sqlite3, nokogiri and so on, which have windows gems pre-compiled. You can see more about http://github.com/luislavena/rake-compiler and maybe even do some things with it. Jarmo
Date: 2010-05-25 15:47 Sender: Omer Bar-or You can get a pre-built Windows version of RMagick 2.13.0 here: http://github.com/tribalvibes/rmagick And many people have found success installing the RMagick gem using mingw, e.g., http://www.waydotnet.com/blog/2010/02/rmagick- on-ruby-1-9-1-i386-mingw32-work-d/ But, as a Windows neophyte, I still don't have any insight as to how to create pre-built Windows versions in a systematic way (so that it can be part of our release process). Any help would be appreciated.
