TCP and TLS?

Detailed description 
I have the current gem to experiment with to see if it is something we would be interested in.   Looks good except I
just noticed that TCP and TLS are not implemented in the current release.  It looks like TCP is going to be released,
but what are the plans for TLS?  And when is the TCP going to be available?
