Bluff: better significant digits on labels

Detailed description 
Bluff is labeling with excessive significant digits in some cases, especially when _spread is in the 1-2.9 range.

The patch makes significant digits depend on the log of the spread, which should always work for all scales.


(PS: I couldn't find a bug tracker for Bluff, and since the developer suggests that he's integrating it into this project,
I'm posting it here)

bug once we get a JavaScript test case.
