I think that the user-interface is somewhat misleading in Alexandria.
The checkboxes in the list-view look like regular checkboxes,
so users naturally assume they should be clickable. Ditto with
the 5-star rating.
I'll certainly consider adding this feature though, as it would
be useful to modify book data directly and rapidly in this way.
(I just need to figure out how GTK+ and ruby-gnome2 handle
this...)
My only concern is that it might lead to lots of inadvertent
edits when clicking on the row for a book. Perhaps the row should
need to be selected before another click can change the rating
(or owner-status etc.) for that row. But a small amount
of user-testing should tell us if this feature is more useful
than annoying :^) |
