If you have installed skype it use 80 port which is used by apache
or mysql server. One skype go in setting -> Advance Setting->
Connection setting and uncheck the port used by skype that will
be 80.

Just found http://newsgroups.derkeiler.com/Archive/Comp/comp.lang
.ruby/2008-06/msg01565.html which says that if you uncheck
"Verify that the ports are available before starting
servers" (Click the "I" icon, then Configure ->
Instant Rails) then there's no more problem.

Guess the port checking on Vista is the bug! Tried without my
firewall on, but that didn't help, sadly.

I have the same problem (on 1.7 and 2.0), since I upgraded to
Vista. I've found that if I start Apache manually (by double-clicking
on <INSTANTRAILSDIR>/Apache/Apache.exe for example), from
then on start/restart works OK from Instant Rails (so long as
you leave the cmd box open, of course). No idea what the underlying
problem is.
