Bug or user error?

Running rails-nav:goto-layouts does not bring up the menu of existing layouts, but produces the following error
message:

rails-core:menu: Wrong type argument: listp, "--"

The other navigation menu commands work properly.

I'm running emacs-version 22.1.1 on linux Fedora Core 4 with rails-version 0.5.99.1.

I was checking whether I had the latest version 0.5.99.5 -
it turns out that yes I do have that version, but the
variable rails-version still contains 0.5.99.1.
