When I configured firefox to use an http proxy (specifically, tinyproxy), I discovered that I was unable to log into
rubyforge.  Instead of logging me in, it simply took me back to the login screen.  Setting firefox for "direct
connection to the internet" allowed me to login.  The tinyproxy daemon was running on a different host than web
browser.
