cycling through page versions with each refresh

Detailed description 
I'm on comatose 0.8 revision 84, running rails 1.2.3 and each time I hit refresh on a page, it displays the second to
last version, then the current version, then the second to last version.  It is strange behavior, and I'm wondering
if there is some incompatibility with using Acts_as_Audited elsewhere in my application on a completely different model
...
