Compiling uder OS X

Detailed description
In order to compile FuseFS under OS X I have to first generate the compile config with "ruby setup.rb config",
then manually add -D__FreeBSD__=10 to the compile time flags in ext/Makefile (I've added it to CPPFLAGS), and only then
can I compile the library with "ruby setup.rb setup".

Is there no way to tell setup.rb to look at the underlying OS type and edit the compile time flagsa utomatically?

I have _no_ experience with using mkmf myself, so I have no idea what it's capable of.

P.S. I submitted the FUSE API bug as well, but forgot to sign it.

All this hubbub over MacFUSE is almost making me consider selling
my current laptop and getting an OS X, but I can't really afford
that at the moment.

I'm delaying the release of FuseFS 0.7.0 until I can get access
to a shell and play around with it to my heart's content.
