The only ones that might seem unnatural on this list are Spells and Ticks. The way I propose to implement these is by making a pattern called acts_as_expireable that can be added to any ActiveRecord model. This would let you define methods for when object is created and when the object expires. One option would be to let the object respawn itself after expiring. This would be suitable for any reoccuring event, like a zone respawning itself, or a tick. This is only one pattern I have seen a need for and developed. Also, this pattern could include some way to delay the spawn for a future time. |
