The mailing list went down for a few days and, due to the timing of
RubyConf, no one was around to fix it. It seems to be back up now.

Yep, I realized that right after I posted it, but my response never made

I was going to do that at first, but I was trying to match the cygwin code.
But, I think your approach is right, and there's is wrong. I'll update it.
