I get the same problem that Nathaniel Talbott described on my Windows
2000, SP4 box with ruby 1.8.2 (2004-12-25) [i386-mswin32].
I have downloaded and installed latest open3.so file also, and compiled
from source using VC6++. My guess is a VC version descrepancy?
