Sounds like you'll be investing a lot of time in analysing these data. 
I'd suggest you also consider QDA software that's updated and supported. 
If you do go with Weft, make sure you keep regular separate backups.

What format are your transcriptions in to start with? e.g. Word files? 
It sounds like something else is displaying line numbers for you apart 
from the main text.

This isn't really a Weft question, but there should be a few different 
ways to add line numbers to text after it's converted and before it's 
imported to Weft - have a look on the web.

The 'Query' tool can do this - search for CODED BY 'race' AND CODED BY 
'access'. It's in the Search menu.
