Providing a translation of the Ruby web site would have two parts: 1) the
initial translation of the current content, and 2) the ongoing maintenance
of the Norwegian version as new content and news items are added.

This effort will be much more sustainable over the long term if you put
together a team of at least three people who would commit to translating and
maintaining the site.

We would need the names and email addresses of your team. Then I would add
you and your team to the vit-core mailing list and we would create your
logins on the site's CMS.

BTW, the ruby-lang.org site is powered by the Radiant CMS (its a Rails app),
so you could also install Radiant on your own machine and play around with
it if you wanted:

This link is to an old version of the Ruby site that is kept online  
for archive purposes.  The www2 subdomain indicates this.  http://www.ruby-lang.org/

Hello Webmasters,

 I'm with the Ruby team @ Sun.  I noticed that binary downloads for 
OpenSolaris are not available on http://ruby-lang.org.  I'd like to 
volunteer to be a part of the Ruby web team and provide Ruby builds for 
Solaris, and pointers to other download links similar to those available 
for Debian, Windows etc., (I already deliver Ruby into OpenSolaris, I'm 
hoping ruby-lang.org could leverage that.)

 What should I do to sign up as a volunteer for this task, assuming that 
you folks are agreeable to this?

 About my general background, I'm a software geek well versed in web 
technologies like Apache, application servers, (and of course, Ruby and 
Rails), and HTML.  I'm also a programmer, with experience in C and 
Java(and umm, C++, which I don't usually talk about).  I also used to 
sysadmin/webmaster for the Free Software Foundation about 8-9 years ago.

I don't feel comfortable answering this one.  Could someone else with  
more knowledge of the packaging process please take a look at this?

You need to create a web presence for your distribution. The easiest way to
do that would be to create a project on RubyForge. Then you'll have a home
to create some web or wiki pages, a repository for your releases that can be
linked to, mailing lists to answer user questions and generally provide
support, and a bug-tracking mechanism where user's can report problems.

Once you've got that in place, made your first release, and announced it on
ruby-talk. Let us know and we will post a link to your release on
ruby-lang.org.

the site about it, but have not heard back yet.  We will pull the link

Providing a translation of the Ruby web site would have two parts: 1) the
initial translation of the current content, and 2) the ongoing maintenance
of the Czech version as new content and news items are added.

This effort will be much more sustainable over the long term if you put
together a team of at least three people who would commit to translating and
maintaining the site.

We would need the names and email addresses of your team. Then I would add
you and your team to the vit-core mailing list and we would create your
logins on the site's CMS.

Also, we were previously contacted by Jakub Hegenbart and Ladislav Martin??k
about the possibility of working on a Czech translation of ruby-lang.org,
but nothing ever got started. I cc'd them on this email as they might be
interested in joining your team.

BTW, the ruby-lang.org site is powered by the Radiant CMS (its a Rails app),
so you could also install Radiant on your own machine and play around with
it if you wanted:

REGULAMENTO



1. Podem concorrer quaisquer pessoas, desde que os textos inscritos sejam em
l?ngua portuguesa. Os trabalhos n?o precisam ser in?ditos e a tem?tica ?
livre.



2. As inscri??es se encerram no dia 19 de maio de 2008. Os trabalhos
enviados ap?s esta data n?o ser?o considerados para efeito do concurso, e,
assim como os demais, n?o ser?o devolvidos. Para tanto ser? considerada a
data de postagem (correio e internet).



3. O limite de cada CONTO ? de at? 6 (seis) p?ginas e o de cada POESIA ? de
2 (duas) p?ginas. Os textos devem ser redigidos em folha A4, corpo 12,
espa?o 1,5 (entrelinhas) e fonte Times ou Arial.



4. As inscri??es podem ser realizadas por correio ou pela internet da forma
seguinte:

a) Via postal (correio): os trabalhos podem ser enviados em papel, CD ou
disquete 3 ? para *Guemanisse Editora e Eventos Ltda. CAIXA POSTAL 92.659 -
CEP 25.953-970 - Teres?polis ? RJ*;

b) Internet: os trabalhos devem ser enviados, em arquivo Word, para os
e-mails editora at guemanisse.com.br ou guemanisse at globo.com



5. Tanto os CONTOS quanto as POESIAS devem ser remetidos em 1 (uma) via,
devendo, em folha (ou arquivo) separada, conter os seguintes dados do
concorrente:

nome completo / nome art?stico, com o qual assina a obra;

categoria a que concorre / data de nascimento / profiss?o

endere?o (com CEP) / e endere?o eletr?nico (e-mail).



6. Cada concorrente pode realizar quantas inscri??es desejar.



7. Para a categoria CONTOS, o valor de cada inscri??o ? de R$ 20,00 (vinte
reais), podendo o autor inscrever at? 2 (dois) textos por inscri??o. Para a
categoria POESIAS, o valor de cada inscri??o ? de R$ 20,00 (vinte reais)
