If all goes well it looks like we may be ready to launch next week. Two questions: 1. Is the Japanese content ready to go? 2. How do you feel about the stability the Apache 2 + mod_fastcgi situation right now? A few of months ago when I was trying to get the site running a couple of people expressed concern that we were running Apache 2 with mod_fastcgi. Scanning through the fcgi_crash.log it looks like we are having regular problems with fcgi processes terminating unexpectedly (see /var/www/new.ruby-lang.org/log/fcgi_crash.log). I'm no Rails deployment expert, but I wonder if we might do better with Mongrel and mod_proxy_balancer. This seems to be the direction that the Rails community is gravitating toward. There's a nice article about it here: http://blog.innerewut.de/articles/2006/04/21/scaling-rails-with-apache-2-2-mod_proxy_balancer-and-mongrel Thoughts? -- John
