It looks like some of your fellow developers do not want to see Ruby succeed. I did read and followed the warning about the vulnerability but in a matter much three hours later I was chopping files out of my registry. Lucky for me I have been in IT for ten years , but that still has not stopped me from having to stay up all night waiting for a bunch of painfully slow over the net scans even though I've locked down everything to where if there still is a piece of suspect code on my system it cannot do much. A denial of service attack is one thing but I have identified 5 different viruses from medium to high risk. Microsoft knew right away as did I where I got these viruses. If you do a search on TechNet of your try ruby site you will see that your site comes up as a hazard. You should pull the product until you have resolved these issues, not everyone will be able to clean there systems as I have. I will also be writing IDM the creators of Ultra studio, Ultra Sentry, Compare and the Editor, there help documentation has a link to your site and they need to be aware and perhaps look elseware for enhancement and plug in products that will not jeopardize there good name and quality products. It is extremely irresponsible of your organization to leave those files online. After this experience I think I may just stay with stylus studio, net beans, Ultra Edit and the Microsoft Dev products. This is a shame I was really considering helping out with that Dev spot you guys needed to fill to get some very interesting projects completed. But if people can't trust the software, no matter how good it is I wouldn't use it. I'll be taking this weekend and writing informing a ton of other small Developer communities that I share information with to warn them of your product. I ask you to please scan your files you make available to the public, even the gems, If people cannot trust your product you and your fellow developers are just wasting your time building these apps and moving the environment forward. Normally I would have installed this on an old Vaio first for a few days but the recommendation came from a company that I have had nothing but great experiences with. Hugh Sasse has been working with the Ruby Visual Identity Team to provide an alternate stylesheet for people with visual impairment. It's now available on the Ruby Web site. To access the stylesheet you will need to have a browser that supports alternate stylesheets. In Firefox you can turn it on by clicking View > Page Style > Low vision. The Low vision stylesheet enlarges the text a little and increases the contrast in some places, but generally tries to keep the experience the same. We'd like feedback on this, and contributions of other stylesheets. There has been discussion of white on black, or black on yellow colour schemes for example. We also don't have any stylesheets for braille devices yet. One thing we should be clear on is that we are not accepting alternate stylesheets just to suite a user's stylistic preferences. We would like to make the site more accessible to a broader range of people, but the general style or brand of the Web site should remain the same. A high-contrast stylesheet in the same style as the original with minimal changes would be acceptable. Also a stylesheet for braille devices would be acceptable. A totally different stylesheet would not be. We would need the names and email addresses of your team (and their desired login names). After installing it (no worries there) when I try to run my scripts I get the following: /..path../ri_options.rb:53: uninitialized constant RI::Paths (NameError) Searching the comp.lang.ruby group, I see this error was reported (#388743) and apparently fixed in 1.8.5-2. When I apply the fix (i.e. simply adding the "require 'rdoc/ri/ri_paths'" statement in ri_options) the problem goes away. Am I suffering from brain fade, or does the recommended Stable Version on the Ruby download page still contain this bug in ri_options.rb ?
