I believe Kevin Moore found a way to fix the script (essentially just commented out a bunch of stuff), and the solution is somewhere on the Tioga users mailing list archives. I, like you, have Mountain Lion and had this problem. Rather than actually fixing the script, I was less patient and instead edited ~/.tiogainit and set the pdf viewer to Skim (a free and fast pdf viewer), which has an option to automatically refresh the pdf if it detects a change on the disk while its open. The tioga tutorial can tell you how to change the default behavior via .tiogainit. And it is indeed doing "Revert". So that's what needs to be fixed for 10.8.2. I'm still happily using 10.6.8 and don't plan to update until forced to by the purchase of a new mac. So let's hope there is a script guru with 10.8.2 reading this who will come to the rescue.
