If you guys don't mind, I'd like to lower that threshold to 1 MB. That would mean that some pretty popular releases - FXRuby, WxRuby, and Cerise, among others - would get mirrored out, so RubyForge would get faster and everyone would be happy. I ran a database query and it would take up an additional 100 MB or so on your servers, which would get you up to around 600 MB, more or less. Any thoughts/objections? Thanks, Tom From dennis at lauschmusik.de Thu Apr 14 07:49:16 2005 From: dennis at lauschmusik.de (Dennis Oelkers) Date: Thu Apr 14 09:43:57 2005 Subject: [Support-mirrors] Lowering the size threshold on mirrored files In-Reply-To: <1113484664.13239.53.camel@hal> References: <1113484664.13239.53.camel@hal> Message-ID: <425E58BC.4040006@lauschmusik.de> Tom Copeland wrote: >Hi fellas - > >Right now files on RubyForge bigger than 2 MB are being mirrored. I've got the space and bandwidth as well. On that note, a gem mirroring system would also be nice and I'm willing to work on a solution for that with you guys if you'd like. Let me know. OK, everybody's OK with this, so I've lowered the threshold to 1 MB and the files are getting sync'd out even now. Thanks!
