From pat.eyler at gmail.com Fri Dec 1 10:18:50 2006 From: pat.eyler at gmail.com (pat eyler) Date: Fri, 1 Dec 2006 08:18:50 -0700 Subject: [Rubytests-devel] [ANN] MountainWest RubyConf Call for Presenters (reminder) Message-ID: <6fd0654b0612010718m628a3a1bhc5aaf1e1e78e8720@mail.gmail.com> We're still not at our target for presentation proposals for the MountainWest RubyConf (Mar 16-17 in Salt Lake City). If you've got an interesting idea for a introductory or intermediate topic in Ruby or Ruby on Rails, please submit a proposal. (Proposals can be submitted by sending email to me -- not the list.) All proposals are due by midnight 31 Dec 2006, MST. If you'd like to make a presentation, but are having trouble coming up with an idea, her are some things I'd love to see: * BDD * Using JRuby * Using Ruby to make your life better (for example, I'm in the middle of writing a syslog analysis tool in Ruby) * Using Ferret * writing wrappers for existing C/C++ code * metaprogramming for beginners * code reading (give us a guided tour of some cool Ruby Code) I'm sure other folks have ideas of what they'd lie to see too. Drop me a line and I'll compile a list. BTW, I'd guess that this list would be useful for speakers at other regional conferences too (yes, this means you SouthWest RubyConf, NorthWest LinuxFest, Gotham City RubyConf, RubyConf*MI, and all the other conferences I've not heard about yet. Even if you can't make it to Salt Lake City in March, consider contributing to the list to support a conference closer to you. -- thanks, -pate ------------------------- http://on-ruby.blogspot.com
