Message-ID: Hey All, Many thanks to all who work so hard to give us ruby on windows! I've used & recommended the OCI for years now. I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this already, but just for a goof... I note that the windows portion of the "download ruby now" page on ruby-lang.org refers to 3 packages--OCI, ruby 1.8.7 & ruby 1.9. It would be asking for trouble to install OCI, and then extract the contents of the 1.8.7 zip file on top of the OCI install I guess, huh? This too may be a dumb question, but I do wonder if there are ways for a 'mere mortal' non-c-programmer, with never-really-used-a-compiler-outside-of-an-ide type skills to contribute to OCI? Perusing the archives of the -devel list, it seems like there's a crap-ton of really hard computer sciency type work to be done, esp. to get ready for 1.9. Are their things that us recovering VB programmers ;-) can do to help? Thanks! -Roy -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
