I'm trying to contact them now and see how we can combine efforts. Definitely worth checking out. I just wished they had packaged this stuff for "real" Ruby developers. What do I mean by that? Well, today most Ruby developers are really Rails developers and I don't know one, not one Rails developers using Windows. Most of us use mainly OS X. Why would they require to compile all the C/C++ code using the S60 3rd Edition SDK for Symbian 9.1? That SDK only runs on Windows. Why can't they provide the .sis executable for S60 and UIQ and let people like me who have S60 devices just write Ruby applications for it? So with that in mind, can you please tell the Symbian team to do a few things for us Ruby developers: Provide an executable file for S60 (and UIQ if they have it) as well as the source. Make an S60 3rd Edition SDK for OS X. I recognize that the 3rd Edition SDK will take a while, but in the meantime I can't see why they can't just give us an executable S60 .sis file tomorrow. All they need to do is follow the example that Nokia set when they released their Python port for S60.
