Bug exists in trunk.
Affects 1.2.(4? - unconfirmed) 1.2.5 and 2.0.0RC

No doubt being dumb, but I can't find the Rspec tests for Rspec itself

I think the attached diff is all that is needed to fix this.

Hope that is good enough.
