Well the whole translation (there is a little more available on the
SVN server than on the web site, but just parts of chapters),
including the diagrams, is under a Creative Commons
Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike
(http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.5/). So if you respect
it, no problem for using them. The NonCommercial clause was a
restriction asked by Minero Aoki because of rights-related problems
with his publishing company (even if the book is not published
anymore).
The first diagrams (those of chapter 2) were made using OmniGraffle
(http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/omnigraffle/), and the others
using Inkscape (http://www.inkscape.org/). The source files for the
new diagrams are on the SVN server.

Concerning your translation, two remarks:
- I did not see any indication of what parts are translated by hand
which ones are automatically translated. I have not tried to read it
so it may be easy to determine which ones are automatically
translated, but I still think it would be better if it was indicated.
- I hope you do not spend your time translating chapters that were
already translated as part of the RHG translation project, as, I
think, it would be a loss of time.
