Okay, in SuperRedCloth:
space dash words+ dash space
Strict just like that!!
You can can have spaces and some punctuation between words, but the
dashes must be up against the first and last words of the phrase.
It still smells, though. What if you have to strike-out something
with dashes in it?? I guess it's back to <del>..</del>.
There should be a syntax for grouping text.
