[Nitro] [PATCH] another Nitro patch-bundle

hi George,

attached is another Nitro patch-bundle, fixing lots of stuff,  
functionality and testcases. Included is the from you requested "gen  
part uses lib/ directory" patch again, since you didn't apply it yet.

These patches aren't all by me, they've only be redone by me against  
your repo to avoid known conflicts.
