Okay. My mistake. I put a breakpoint in the code before any of our
code executed and saw REQUEST_URI = '/', but I comment out some of the
later manipulations and things work fine. So at this point, I'm not
quite sure what I saw.

I'll see what manipulations are required and I'm sure Kashia will be
happy to test. :)
