Do we need to deprecate the prototype-helpers?
i would imagine that one can use either... also avoiding changes.
I mean, the helpers are not broken or anything, so why remove the functionality?
it is just that one has to use either one, since they conflict with each other.

how about aliasing the current :javascript helper to be :prototype and
add the :jquery helper as well?

not so sure about additional helpers which build upon these... are
there any? i think i remember something... gotta investigate :)
