My point really wasn't that this list is a great place for new
non-Instiki product announcements...

...it was that it seems to me that we *have* something specifically for
Instiki news right now: this mailing list! While it's possible that I
missed it, none of the information about the new maintainer, work
starting again, or even the re-availability of the Instiki web site and
Trac (both of which had been down for quite some time) was sent to this
list. I doubt I'm the only one who was left with the impression that
Instiki was a dead project, and were that to be the case, "what product
still under active development can we use as an Instiki replacement"
would be a pretty logical topic for the users mailing list.
This may be a rather moot point now, of course, but I think the general
point remains. This list is here expressly to communicate with Instiki
users. When something major happens -- like, say, new developers
restarting the project! -- dropping at least a quick note here about the
news seems like a good thing, even if it's just "New maintainers, check
the web site for details." :)
