Subject: [Instantrails-developers] Instant Rails - no more updates

Over the past couple years, my career has forked off in a different
direction and I no longer have the time or bandwidth to maintain Instant
Rails. I will be announcing this publicly sometime in the next week or two.

At that time I am going to tell people to use BitNami.org's Ruby Stack
instead (they expect to release the Windows version of their Ruby Stack
sometime next week). BitNami is doing some impressive open source
integration work. You can check them out here:

   http://www.bitnami.org/stacks

Of course, Instant Rails is all open source, so if someone wants to pick it
up they can. However, when I announce this publicly I'm also going to update
the wiki to refer potential Instant Rails users to BitNami.

Anyway, I wanted to give you guys a heads up about this so you won't be
caught by surprise when I finally make the announcement.

I no longer have the time to maintain and support Instant Rails, and there
will be no further releases.

However, Instant Rails is being replaced by the BitNami RubyStack, which you
can find here:

The BitNami RubyStack ships with the following components (all fully
integrated):

  - Ruby 1.8.6 patch level 111
  - RubyGems 0.9.4
  - Rails 1.2.5
  - ImageMagick 6.3.5
  - Subversion 1.4.5
  - SQLite 3.5.1
  - MySQL 5.0.45
