Try updating from here: http://ncurses-ruby.berlios.de/. Do you use Vim or Emacs? Because you might enjoy Hobix more if you use your $EDITOR. Open up ~/.hobixrc and change 'use editor' to 'true'. Then when you 'hobix post ...' or 'hobix edit...', you'll be editing a YAML file in VIM. The Ncurses editor has some problems since it uses Ncurses forms, which are experimental at present. _why From why at hobix.com Mon Dec 20 20:33:36 2004 From: why at hobix.com (why the lucky stiff) Date: Mon Dec 20 20:32:08 2004 Subject: Comments on RedHanded? My development version of Hobix now includes a CGI script which handles Textile preview, comments, and a browser interface for editing posts. How does it work? It works like Movable Type. When a comment is posted on a page, Hobix regenerates the entry page and the index page. Inevitably you will have fewer commenters than readers. It works great! _why From why at hobix.com Mon Dec 20 20:57:47 2004 From: why at hobix.com (why the lucky stiff) Date: Mon Dec 20 20:56:15 2004 Subject: Comments on RedHanded? Message-ID: <20041221212406.GE18494@nygotha.pal3.org> I think there is something fundementally wrong with my understanding of Hobix. I love the idea, I just can't seem to get it to work. I've run the following: ruby -ropen-uri -e 'eval(open("http://go.hobix.com/").read)' and it went thru the steps fine. When it prompts me whether i want to Join a group, I hit enter. I enter in a blog name at the Create portion. It will pop up my editor (thx _why) and I'll edit what I think I am supposed to edit. Everything seems to go fine, the hobix install ends correctly and everything. But nothing is generated (web pages) and when I go to regen, that doesn't seem to work either. I've tried the `hobix create myblog' stuff, i've tried the add, the del, the update... everything. still i get nothing. Am I being specific enough? I am sure I missing something incredibly obvious, i've read the hobix.com page a thousand times it seems, but nothing... Alas, it is time to humiliate myself infront of the entire world and ask for help.
