Hi, Lyle,

FWIW, I also ran into this problem when building fxruby against Ruby  
1.8.5 (on SuSE 10.1, I think).  I think I just hacked definitions of  
these macros into 1.8.5's ruby.h file...

RARRAY_LEN
RARRAY_PTR
RSTRING_LEN
RSTRING_PTR

I took the definitions from a 1.8.6 ruby.h file.

IMHO, it wouldn't be a bad thing to put them in an fxruby include  
file with #ifndef guards around them.
