At the moment, I only work with mailing lists too. Google groups can work as a mailing list, so that's not really the problem. You do need a Gmail address to work with Google groups, and I expect that to be the major problem. Google groups is a good solution, *if* you commit to it completely. Otherwise it loses a lot of its appeal. Well, in my opinion at least. But that's exactly the problem, this is about opinions and preferences that I know for some people are quite strong. A fourth option that I haven't mentioned yet is we host our own mailing list with web interface, RSS feed, etc. That way we can completely integrate everything, set it up the way we want/need, and we don't depend on external facilities. Of course, this is the route that requires most effort from our side, but it's a long-term solution. If still needed, we can keep the Google group mirror and simply allow any post from the Google group to the mailing list. It's still a touch "more" than what it should be, but I would feel a lot better if this basic issue got resolved to everyone's satisfaction. Regards, Peter Vanbroekhoven XaoP ]
