Hi all,
As mentioned before, we would like to hold the first BRUG meeting in
the first week of October. The current proposal is one of 2, 3 and 4
October. Because we want to gather as many people as possible, it is
probably best if we vote on this. You can send me your preferences in
private so as to avoid swamping the mailing list.
Another issue is the time at which to hold the meeting. Currently, we
are thinking of starting at 18h so we can sit together with our newly
made friends and have sandwiches at a reasonable hour. But this may be
too early for some people to make it, so don't hesitate to voice your
opinions on this.
Finally, the program for the first meeting will probably be as follows:
* Welcome
* Everyone presenting themselves: who are they, how have they been
using Ruby, what do they expect from these meetings?
* Some discussion on what further meetings should look like (could
ensue from or blend with the previous item) and when the next meeting
will be
* A presentation. Currently, we are considering one on metaprogramming
because we know from experience that many Rubyists still consider that
an advanced topic even though it is an invaluable tool. Other
suggestions are welcome
If there's something else you want to put on the agenda for the first
meeting, or any other comments on it, just hit reply.
Kind regards,
Peter Vanbroekhoven
