Hi,

Just wanted to wish you all welcome to brug-talk.

Besides being an abbreviation of Belgian Ruby User Group, the name
BRUG is intended to reflect our bigger goal: build a bridge between
Ruby and Belgium. (Although maybe not obvious to those who don't speak
Dutch.)

Currently, we are trying to set a date for the first week of October.
That's still relatively long from now, but it gives us time to
organize things well. We are thinking of starting at 19h-19h30, but we
can vote on that as it largely depends on when people can get here.
Depending on the program, the meeting should last about 2 to 3 hours.

Our main concern now is what that program will be. We welcome any
suggestions. The program can be quite varied, ranging from hour-long
in-depth technical presentations to short introductions to libraries
you have used or have written yourself, but it should certainly not be
limited to that. The program should probably be a good mixture of Ruby
and Rails; the way I see it, Rails is a big part of Ruby, and vice
versa. So, if you think you've got something interesting to tell your
fellow Rubyists, let us know. If you know someone else who can tell us
a few interesting things, let us know! Oh, and if you can get Matz or
DHH to come over, definitely let us know!!! The first meeting probably
shouldn't have the heaviest of programs though; it will be all about
getting to know each other, about socializing, and we don't want
people to just come here, listen to a few presentations, and leave.

So... let the flow of topics commence!

With kind regards,
Peter
