We did it last year and not only did the visiting Rubyists get a chance to experience Boulder through a local's eyes but the locals who opened up their spare rooms/couches got a chance to really get to know some cool folks. I am emailing to find out who would like to open up their place this year to visiting Rubyists. Since most of the out of towners won't have a means of transportation, we are targeting places that have an easy way to get to downtown Boulder (public transportation, walking). This doesn't mean that if you live off the beaten path, you can't participate. It just means that we need to find you that special out of towner that has their own transportation or if you are attending the conference you can give them a ride to/from Boulder. Regardless of location, if you are interested in opening up your place please email me with the following: Your address (I promise I won't share it with any marketing firms) How easy it is to get from your place to downtown Boulder without your own means of transportation What type of accommodations you have Thanks in advance, Mike -- Mike Gehard Pivotal Labs Boulder (970) 471-9835 | (303) 857-5980 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Engineers from Trada and Mike Gerhard from Pivotal Labs will be presenting how their respective companies are continuously deploying web applications. Trada is located at 1023 Walnut St in Boulder (in the former Daily Camera building). Pizza and beer will be provided. For those unfamiliar, continuous deployment (CD) is the practice of deploying code changes to production as rapidly as possible. For more information on continuous deployment checkout some resources Etsy has put out: - Quantum of Deployment (http://codeascraft.etsy.com/2010/05/20/quantum-of-deployment/) - The what, how, why, and when of Etsy's deployment process that enables them to push to production 50 or 60 times a day. - Moving Fast at Scale (http://www.livestream.com/etsy/video?clipId=pla_adbab6e2-c629-4bfe-b1fd-21c898693282) - a talk Etsy put out describing the tools and culture that they support for CD Sorry for such late notice... we hope the pizza and beer will make up for it ;)
