Have written a few Rails applications and understand the differences between Rails 2 and Rails 3. Don't know PHP, or wouldn't admit it if you did. Can work independently and remotely, but open to being mentored by a senior developer. Ready to start *immediately*. Us: We've been writing Ruby on Rails applications for our clients for 5 years, beginning with Rails version 0.13. We have a solid background in software development and approach Rails development as professional software developers. We're looking for someone to join our small team to help write a Rails 3 application, possibly long-term. This could eventually turn into full-time work if you wanted it to. Skills: - Rails 3 (and Rails 2) - You know why business logic doesn't belong in controllers - You know stuff you can't learn from a tutorial - You've written more than one real Rails app - Git (you know how to branch and merge) - HTML/CSS (no you can't use HAML) - Test::Unit - PostgreSQL - You don't use Windows for development - You have some nerdy script running from cron that saves you 10 seconds a day off some task Next Steps: - Act fast - Send your resume to: ruby2011011 at pmade.com - Subject line should start with: RUBY - Explain what this Ruby code does: class Object def true? self ? Cron can't wake the computer, but there is a way to do it: 1. Open System Preferences 2. Click on the "Energy Saver" icon 3. Click the "Schedule" button 4.
