Hi,

I found this bug report explaining why the Amazon support is not working
on Ubuntu Karmic.

I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 and since have not been able to add
books. I set up my provider information with Amazon as I had it before
the upgrade. When I try to add books the program looks at all of the
provider in turn but does not find a match. Does anyone know what I can
do to fix this?

My guess is you've been bitten by a bug in hpricot:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libhpricot-ruby/+bug/440158

Hopefully Cathal can provide a workaround.  I've been out of the loop 
for the past two months.

In fact Yannick has already provided an easy option for installing the
fixed Hpricot on Ubuntu systems, by putting it on his own PPA.

Since Mike's e-mail came coincidentally only 20 minutes after Yannick's
on the list, I thought everyone would see the connection (that's what I
get for being too wrapped up in the code!).

But anyway, thanks to Yannick for making the PPA available, and anyone
who can't get Amazon support working on Ubuntu should try to install
version 0.8.1-1 of libruby-hpricot from his PPA (or Debian testing if
you prefer).
