Also, I'm quite busy with my new job as well. I have read all bug reports, submitted patches, personal e-mails, etc... attentively. Unfortunately, I am not able to hack on Alexandria (I still does not have a personal computer, and I have access to the Internet only from work). But I will nevertheless try to merge the patches and fix the bugs during my one-week xmas vacation. With the new translations, we could even release 0.4.1 for the new year! I should normally move to my new home at the beginning of January, with personal Internet access etc... It has been committed on CVS. Basically, the current thing will only let you mark books "as borrowed", and provide the name of the person who borrowed it, as well as the date when it has been borrowed (and an additional label gives you the number of day the book has been borrowed). In the future we can improve the thing to interface with evolution data server, retrieving people name from there, allowing Alexandria to send emails to request borrowed books, etc... Alexandria is a really awesome app, and it is the first one in a long while that has really given me something new to do with my computer. Thank you! It would be nice if we could adjust the number of characters shown in the book titles when in Icon Viewing mode. I've never programmed with GTK+, though, so I don't know if this is an API limitation or not. The current setting feels a little too small for me. Another feature request: when deleting books, can we have a checkbox for "yes for all of these"? It would speed up testing for me. Also, I've done a little testing on the crashing after changing view (list<->icons or vica-versa) bug. Attached are a couple traces - it's weird, but I get a lot of different traces for this crash, depending on whether I add one book or multiple ones, or if I change from the menu or the button. Once again, I'm not a GUI person, so feel free to ignore me. But I think that might be the start of a path to having too many unnecessary preferences. For that type of think, I think it is better to either get a sane default, or make it so you can expand the size by dragging the border (I don't have time a the moment to see if that is possible). Another option might be to expand the character limit a bit if it makes sense, and then have tooltips that will show the entire title. Just a few thoughts. -- Zachary P.
