Notes:

Release Name: Version 1.6

Notes:
Dear Library à la Carte User Community,

After careful consideration of OSU Libraries & Press' current programming capacity and direction, a thorough analysis of what it will take for us to bring Library à la Carte up-to-date with the latest features and best practices of Ruby on Rails, we have decided to stop further development of Library à la Carte

This note may not seem a surprise to many of you, the code for Library à la Carte has not been updated publicly in a year and a half. In December 2011, we began an effort to create a developer community around Library à la Carte, and while we had a few institutions express interest, we were not able to get the community going.

We at OSU Libraries consider Library à la Carte a resoundingly successful project, we are proud to have built an Open Source solution that met the needs of so many users for so many years. We will continue to create Open Source tools that other libraries can use, and hope that you’ll continue to adopt the products we create.

The update to Library à la Carte available as of today is our last planned update. It is our intention to migrate our content to another system, if you plan to do the same and would like to know what needs to be done, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you all for an amazing five years.

Director, Emerging Technologies & Services
