Karl, thank you for the stimulus -- contrary to my post of 8-19, which apparently did not take hold, in order to test the gem installation i asked it to do a --system update again and it re-installed the 0.9.4 gem. As soon as i ran it on long-decimal, your project installed successfully. Thanks again for the help, and now i'll roll up my sleeves and get to work!
