My current instance runs on 1.8.7, but we're moving to an "official" campus server (a step up for the project), but the server environment is now under more control. (On the campus server, we're using CentOS, for which the supported Ruby version is 1.8.5. I can request an exception if necessary, but just thought I'd check.)
