Ah, there we go:

The trick was to delete the svn remote branch before doing the "git remote add origin". Indeed.

Hm, halfway thru the conversion and confusing things are happening... will resolve them...

I started this in svn, but maybe we might want to switch to git? I'd like to be more familiar with git and this may be a good opportunity...
