Hi! Welcome to the RubyMan project!
First, if you haven't already done so, you will want to get yourself a RenderMan-compliant renderer, such as the excellent Aqsis package: http://www.aqsis.org/
Second, you will want to download RubyMan and once you get it, try out the demo by typing:
ruby demo.rb
Feel free to edit that file to see the different rendering options. There is a very nice 'Tk' renderer that formats the RIB (RenderMan Interface Bytestream - which is how you describe the text that is being sent to the renderer) and colorizes it in a nice fashion. RubyMan is based upon the work done by Michael "Wave" Johnson at Pixar. Thanks, Michael!
I hope you enjoy this package, and also hope that it promotes the use of this excellent language in places that it has never been used before.
