First, EdX is a great character gen program.
One thing I would like is Sorting and Grouping abilities. Buttons to move item up down in a list would be helpfull.
grouping example
Cybernetics:
Reflex Booster: Extra Atacks 1
Reflex Booster: Extra Defenses 2
Targeting Computer: Combat Teq. 2(acuracyx2)
CyberEyes: Heightened Senses 1 (Infravision)
Combat Training:
Atack combat Mastery 2
Combat Technique 2 (Weapon Encyc, Fast Draw)

The 5 billion + problem seems to only be with the attribute editor part. Defects can go higher (akward size x 40) and manually changed ranks (using notepad and the saved file) display fine. It just crashes when you open the attribute editor.

I'm planning on adding a character template system of some sort which will allow you to save a (partial) character as a template and then apply that template to any other character you want. This should also be able to cover your special attack features (just save each attack you want to keep as a template).
I probably won't incorporate a random name generator since there are alot of those available elsewhere on the internet, and I personally have never been really satisfied with their results. If you'd like to submit a patch for it... :)
I've been thinking about doing something special for Power Flux, but it hasn't really solidified in my mind yet. It's definitely an attribute that could use with some computational assistance. :)
Servants/agents/henchmen/etc eventually will be included as sub-characters on the sheet. You'll be able to import/export characters from them, which would allow the "databases" you mentioned (just store your servant characters in a "servants/" directory, etc.).

Oh, just thought of some more.
6) Database of servants, for quick selection.
7) Database of Agents, henchmen, demons, etc... Each of these would be quite useful. I'd imagine that once one was done, the rest would be pretty trivial to make.
8) Database of gadgets.
All of these databases should be able to be named, so that they can be applied on a per-campaign basis. It would be very useful to be able to email my databases to my players so that they could import and use them.

I'm being prolific today, aren't I?
Anyway, there are a few things that I'd love EdX to have:
1) A stand-alone Special-Attack builder that feeds each of the attacks that you make into a database.
2) A method of bringing attacks from that database into your character. Perhaps by attack name or quick summary?
3) A random name generator. A random attack name generator as well. I've seen some good ones that use simple data files. It would be good if these files were in plain text, I guess. It looks like you're using YAML for the data files that you have so far.
4) Perhaps additional databases for other extendable or subjective attributes, such as features.
5) Another stand-alone generator for things within a Power Flux, with the ability again to put the packages generated into a character. Actually, I'd like to be able to do this per power flux type and level, so that if someone has a 'Shapeshifting' power flux at level 1 they can get a cheat sheet of all of the ways that others have spent their points.
Hm. None of these are trivial. Sorry...
