Summary: Ferret 0.9.0-alpha
Project: ferret

This latest release of Ferret replaces the old C extension with cferret, a full port to C. This has allowed some very large performance improvements both in terms of memory and cpu usage.

This release is definitely an alpha release. Since all of the file system IO is now handled in the C code and cferret has only been tested on linux there will likely be some portability issues. I recommend downloading as a gem so that you can easily rollback to a previous version.
