Summary: flixr-0.01 "the basic idea" released
Project: flixr
THIS APPLICATION IS A DEVELOPER-ONLY RELEASE. It is not intended to be useful for any purpose other than demonstration purposes. Ruby hackers who are also Netflix users are encouraged to give it a whirl. It's a single script file, so there's nothing to install (except ruby-gnome2 and ruby 1.8.x, of course). Just download flixr.rb and go.
This is an extremely rough draft release just because I hate to have an empty project sitting out here. Data generated with this release will be useless with the next release (although config information may carry forward).
Right now flixr is using the RSS feeds provided by netflix.com to populate queue data, to get your RSS ID go to the http://www.netflix.com/RSSFeeds page and copy out the long string in the RSS URL after "id=" and paste it into flixr's RSS ID field in Preferences.
Also, at the moment the "Execute" action doesn't actually submit any changes to your actual Netflix queue. It just dumps the newly reordered queue to STDOUT for inspection.
Again, this is a rough draft release. It is here to show off the main idea, get initial feedback, etc.
