Today GeoRuby 0.0.1 was released. It is intended as a holder for data returned from PostGIS queries and roughly follows the OGC "Simple Features for SQL" specifications.
On top of that, a plugin for Rails which manages the PostGIS geometric columns in a transparent way is also provided, as well as a way to manage these columns in migrations.
